From Dairy Farming to French Inspiration....
The French Shop at the Sea was opened in 2014, and is a well established, unique business originally located in Akaroa, but now at Waihi Beach.
Sue Managh adored the store so much, that when it came up for sale in 2014 she purchased it, and is now the proud owner of this French character boutique. Sue moved the business to Waihi Beach in the North Island, originally home to her and husband Geoff.
The couple had been dairy farmers for the past 20 years, so owning and running the shop was a very big decision, but one Sue is absolutely delighted they made.
Sue said “The previous owners. Geoff and Jennifer whilst now retired helped tremendously, even travelling to France with us to help source unique items. We prefer to source our products from France, but to complement our range some are sourced elsewhere, however all products have a distinctive French character”.
The French Shop, located within the Wilson Road shopping village is open 7 days a week with Julie and Judi helping out Sue on a day to day basis in the shop.
